CTA Architects Sdn Bhd (CTA) has been awarded the 2025 Asia’s Best Hospitality Architecture Design for its outstanding work on the Fairfield by Marriott Langkawi, recognized by the Asia Architecture and Design Awards.
Situated along the idyllic shoreline of Pantai Cenang, Langkawi, this landmark project showcases CTA Architects’ mastery in transforming spatial challenges into architectural distinction. Once a modest beachfront plot, the site’s triangular geometry and height restrictions became the foundation for a bold, elegant solution — a 15-storey hospitality icon that captures both the beauty of the island and the spirit of contemporary design.
The architecture features a cascading L-shaped tower that maximizes sea views and natural light, ensuring that nearly 80% of guest rooms enjoy direct ocean vistas. Expansive balconies and private sundecks invite guests to experience Langkawi’s famous sunsets in comfort and style. The podium façade, inspired by traditional Malaysian woven motifs, elegantly bridges cultural heritage with modern sophistication — a hallmark of CTA Architects’ design ethos.
Internally, the hotel embodies balance and serenity. Earth-toned finishes, local materials, and warm lighting create a welcoming atmosphere that complements its island setting. Functional yet fluid, the layout integrates event and leisure spaces such as a junior ballroom, pool bar, and direct beach access, ensuring seamless transitions between relaxation and activity.
Commissioned by Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (Koop Sahabat) Berhad, the Fairfield by Marriott Langkawi represents a collaboration that celebrates both design excellence and community partnership. The result is an architecture that harmonizes aesthetics, efficiency, and place — setting a new standard for modern island hospitality in Malaysia.
This recognition reaffirms CTA Architects’ position as one of Malaysia’s leading architectural practices, consistently delivering projects that embody innovation, cultural sensitivity, and enduring value.
